The wider world of family and community is an integral part of Maxwell & Districts Kindergarten. We recognise the wellbeing of children as interdependent within the wellbeing and culture of adults, whanau, families and local communities.
Competent and Confident Learners
Our philosophy of child initiated learning is supported by the research that shows that unstructured playtime is best… children will invest more energy and emotion into their play and will become happy interested and curious learners.
The children are all learning to develop internal standards, we want them to feel safe and to participate in the programme in a calm, focussed and alert manner.
Inclusion and Diversity
Opportunities for learning are equitable and each child’s contribution is valued irrespective of gender, age, ability, ethnicity or background.
All children are recognised as unique individuals who have special strengths to contribute, as we l learn to work peacefully alongside one another.
