James Bowen

Accountant

James is a local Whanganui business person being a director and part owner of Moore Stephens Markhams Whanganui.. He graduated from Massey University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accounting. He spent five years working in New Plymouth after finishing university.. During that time he gained his Chartered Accounting qualification before heading overseas in 2005. James spent five years in London before the lure of Wanganui finally pulled his family back to New Zealand.

Karen Craig

My work background is mainly as a Personal Assistant/Executive Assistant to CEO's and General Managers in medium-sized to large organisations, including a subsidiary company of Fonterra and Ergo Personal Financial Services which then 'morphed' into AMP Banking (New Zealand). Pre-second child, I worked for Actronic Ltd and moved from the PA to the HR Advisor role for a couple of years. Most of these roles involved minuting meetings at various levels including Board level.

Completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Gifted and Talented) in 2004, Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Educational Psychology) in 2012, and then Master of Education in 2016, I believe that education, both formal and informal, is a life-long experience, and quality early childhood education provides a crucial foundation for this. I am excited to be a part of the Whanganui Kindergarten Association Board, and to continue advocating for all children, and in particular those with diverse needs.
